NEW: Kelly Ayotte’s Attorney General Takes Multiple Lavish Trips Funded by Group with Ties to January 6th Rioters

A new bombshell report from IndepthNH details how Kelly Ayotte’s Attorney General, John Formella, received more than $24,000 in “reimbursements for eight trips” funded by the Rule of Law Defense Fund (RLDF), a “group that was part of [the] attempted coup” at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.

According to IndepthNH, Formella’s RLDF-funded trips took him on excursions including rounds of golf, whale watching, wine tasting, and pool hospitality. RLDF was directly involved with the efforts to overturn the 2020 election, and deployed robocalls to “Trump supporters encouraging them to attend the Jan. 6. Rally and stop Biden’s election.” RLDF is also a sponsor and participant of Turning Point Action.

Ayotte has repeatedly failed to join lawsuits against the Trump administration, even as Trump has barrelled forward with disastrous cuts to food assistance, housing, and health care for Granite Staters. Despite Trump’s reckless trade wars wreaking havoc on New Hampshire’s economy, Ayotte has also refused to join lawsuits against the Trump administration on tariffs and has refused to demand tariff refunds for Granite Staters.

In May, Ayotte “refused to comment” on whether she supported Trump’s nearly $1.8 billion taxpayer-funded slush fund that would funnel money to Capitol insurrectionists. Ayotte also accepted a $10,000 contribution from Elizabeth Uihlein, who also contributed more than $4 million to the Tea Party Patriots, which sponsored the rally before the deadly January 6th insurrection.

“Ayotte can run, but she can’t hide from her record of enabling Trump,” said NHDP Chair Ray Buckley. “She’s repeatedly refused to stand up to Trump, and now her own Attorney General is taking lavish trips funded by a group tied to January 6. Kelly Ayotte puts Donald Trump before Granite Staters.”
