Donald Trump is telling voters to “pretend” that he’s “on the ballot” in November, an ask that couldn’t come at a worse time for Kelly Ayotte. 

Trump’s approval rating is “underwater in New Hampshire.” His abysmal -25 net job approval rating, coupled with the fact that “a majority [of Granite Staters] disapprove of President Trump’s use of [tariffs] is daunting news for Costly Kelly, who continues to stand by as Trump wreaks havoc on New Hampshire’s economy.

Kelly Ayotte and New Hampshire Republicans now have 54 days to answer for Trump’s failed record. 

Granite Staters are already showing up to turn the page on Republicans. Just this week, New Hampshire Democrats turned out in droves for the State’s Primary election and dramatically outpaced the Secretary of State’s projection, with roughly 151,215 Democrats casting ballots, which is more than 30,000 above the state’s forecast. 

All Costly Kelly has to show for her failed leadership is that she’s far better at enabling Trump’s chaotic and costly agenda than standing up to it. Time and again, Ayotte’s loyalty to Trump has left Granite Staters footing the bill — from her silence on Trump’s disastrous trade wars to his colossal health care cuts. 

“Granite Staters don’t need to pretend that Trump’s on the ballot; they’re living his failed record every time they check their bank account, go to the grocery store, or fill up their tank,” said NHDP Chair Ray Buckey. “Costly Kelly Ayotte has spent her time in office hiding behind Trump instead of standing up for New Hampshire. Best of luck to her over the next 54 days as she tries to distance herself from the man she proudly praised as the ‘right choice’ to lead the country.”
