Ayotte Pays Lip Service on Bow Data Center – Still No Executive Order
 

It’s been three days since news broke that there is a proposal to build a massive 350-megawatt data center in Bow, New Hampshire. While Costly Kelly claims she’s ready to address the project head-on, she has yet to introduce an executive order to intervene on the project.  After months of refusing to “support a statewide data center moratorium,” Ayotte recently scrambled to change course, “represent[ing] a shift in her position.” 

Costly Kelly has claimed she’s focused on ratepayers and wants to “reduce energy prices,” yet under her failed leadership, electricity costs have climbed 15%. And despite those claims, Ayotte deliberately signed a bill that opens up the door for data centers to expand across New Hampshire by exempting off-grid energy producers from Public Utilities Commission oversight and renewable energy requirements. 

Ayotte has a record of siding with the data center industry, having taken $138,000 from the industry. She also accepted a campaign contribution from the developer who proposed a data center in Nottingham, whose proposal “ignited a firestorm,” with 20,000+ people signing on to a petition opposing the project. 

“It’s been three days. Where is the executive order? Where is the urgency?” said NHDP spokesperson Marissa Hebert. “Will Kelly actually use the power of the Corner Office to protect Bow residents? Three days in, and Granite Staters are still waiting for an answer.”
